Panoramic images, also known as 3D (three-dimensional) photographs, together with illustrative photo galleries make the basis of a virtual tour.
While panorama gives a great general impression of a place, photographs describe details and highlight the key points. This combination helps creating more objective and saturated image of a place, also significantly enhancing the amount of presented information and enriching visitor’s impressions.
Panoramas are produced by making several wide-angled photos from the same view point, which are being later „glued together” with help of computer into one spherical panoramic image.
For achieving of the best results it is recommended to make spherical panoramic images (where viewing is possible both in horisontal and vertical direction), while often there are found only cilindrical panoramas in the Internet, which can be viewed only in horisontal dimension. Unfortunately such panoramas do not create a true effect of presence, and may, quite opposite, lead to a tensed feeling of limited space.
